After an eight-year absence, the Civilization franchise has finally unveiled its next installment, Civilization VII, during the opening night of the Summer Game Fest. For the most eager fans, a first trailer has already been released, and a gameplay showcase is set to follow soon.

Released in 1991, the Civilization saga holds a special place in the hearts of turn-based strategy fans. Despite the passage of time, players’ passion for the franchise has only grown stronger. Civilization VI, which launched in October 2016, continues to rank among the 100 most played games on Steam, proving its lasting appeal.

On Friday, June 7, 2024, 2K officially announced Civilization VII, marking a historic first for the series. For the first time, console players won’t have to wait, as the game is set to launch simultaneously on PC and consoles.

2K has also set a date for August, when a full reveal will take place, promising exciting new features and innovations. This event will likely showcase new gameplay mechanics, interfaces, and fresh additions that will shape the next evolution of the franchise.
