Apple Invitations: A New Era for Event Planning
Le 05/02/2025
Apple introduced its latest application, Apple Invitations, an enhanced version of the app previously known as Confetti. Despite the name change, the core goal of the application remains the same: to simplify the organization of meetings, parties, and other gatherings, while offering a visually enriched experience.

From Confetti to Invitations: A Name Change, but Continuity in Experience
Originally, Apple’s project was named Confetti, a reference to the festive and interactive nature of the app. Confetti was officially launched under the name Apple Invitations with the release of iOS 18.3. The name change was part of Apple’s effort to unify the app with its other services while preserving the innovative elements that were integrated during its initial design. Thus, Confetti should not be seen as a separate app, but rather as an early version of the now-renamed Invitations.
An Enriched and Interactive User Experience
Apple Invitations goes beyond being just an event manager. Unlike the traditional Calendar app, which mainly focuses on date management, Invitations incorporates interactive graphic elements. Users can create personalized invitations by adding animations, photos, and even AI-generated elements like the Image Playground. These invitations can be shared via iMessage, email, or social media, offering greater flexibility in event sharing.
Additionally, the app includes features that allow users to track RSVPs and manage guest lists intuitively. The app relies on iCloud to ensure secure storage and smooth synchronization across Apple devices.
Seamless Integration Within the Apple Ecosystem
As with all Apple services, Invitations offers perfect integration with other Apple products. Whether you're a user of Apple Music, Maps, or Weather, these services connect seamlessly to the app. For instance, you can create a collaborative playlist on Apple Music and share it with your guests. The app also integrates with Maps to provide directions to the event location and with Weather to offer real-time weather forecasts.
Complementary to the Calendar App
While Apple Invitations is not intended to replace the Calendar app, it complements it by offering additional features that enhance the event organization experience. While Calendar primarily focuses on managing schedules and dates, Apple Invitations emphasizes visual interaction and creating a true event around the invitation. It provides a more immersive experience for users.
Data Security at the Core of the App
Apple continues to position itself as a leader in data privacy and security. Like all of its services, Invitations adheres to Apple’s strict security principles. Users can feel assured about the protection of their personal data, with features like two-factor authentication for accessing iCloud accounts. This approach ensures a convenient and secure experience while maintaining the highest privacy standards.
Apple Invitations: A New Era for Event Planning
With Apple Invitations, Apple is not merely offering another event management app. It is revolutionizing how we create and participate in gatherings. The seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem, the ability to personalize invitations, track responses in real time, and the focus on user security make Apple Invitations an indispensable tool for anyone looking to organize events in a simple, modern, and secure way.
