LinkedIn Expands Its Video Strategy
Le 10/02/2025
LinkedIn has announced the rollout of new features aimed at enhancing the visibility of video content on its platform. This initiative aligns with a growing trend, as video usage on LinkedIn has increased by 36% in just one year. The primary goal is to improve video discoverability in users' search results.

LinkedIn Introduces Full-Screen Vertical Video on Desktop
After launching vertical video on mobile last year, LinkedIn is now bringing this feature to its desktop version. Users will be able to scroll through vertical videos directly from their computers by clicking on one. Additionally, the "Videos For You" tab—previously available only on mobile—has now made its way to desktop.
Moreover, LinkedIn is enhancing search capabilities by prioritizing videos in search results. When users search for a specific topic, a new carousel will display relevant video content, making it easier to find engaging and informative clips.
New Tools to Boost Audience Engagement
To help users increase their visibility and engagement, LinkedIn is introducing several key updates:
- A new analytics tab will provide insights into average view time, total impressions, and overall watch time, helping creators track their video performance.
- A new profile preview will be displayed in the full-screen video player, making it easier for viewers to visit the creator’s profile and explore their other content.
- A more prominent "Follow" button will be available at the bottom of videos, encouraging users to subscribe to creators effortlessly.
- Videos will now appear larger and more noticeable in the main feed to capture users' attention.
- Clicking on a creator’s profile in the feed will show an overview of their recent videos—similar to the TikTok format.
Empowering Users to Create Better Video Content
To support these changes, LinkedIn is also expanding its LinkedIn Learning courses, offering users valuable insights on:
- Creating engaging and impactful videos
- Improving content quality and storytelling
- Leveraging LinkedIn Events to foster video-based collaborations
With these new features, LinkedIn is reaffirming its commitment to video content, encouraging users to take advantage of these tools to expand their reach and strengthen their presence on the platform.
